The story

Five centuries ago, humanity forged an eternal pact with vampires, creating three forces: the Bloodline Crown, the Dawn Guardians, the Hunters. The Council imprisoned them. Ava Bennett, the last Guardian, storms the palace to kill King Damon Black. Damon knew her yet offers a deal: stay and learn the truth about him. He is no monster but the Council's 300-year prisoner on a hated throne. Enemies become allies. Hunter Ryan Cole tracks them, questioning his mission; Lucius's rebellion unites the trio, and Damon dissolves the pact, toppling Lucius. Victory is brief: Lucius sacrifices himself to the Eternal Night, unleashing war. Damon is corrupted; Ava seals it with her Dawn Eye, losing her sight. Lucius's last humanity closes the breach. Ava amends the pact; Ryan guards the door. A year later the artifact restores her Eye, revealing beyond the door an ancient consciousness older than vampires or humans. She opens it, sees a beautiful world, but Damon is gone—so she closes it.
